The Sweetest Fig

Now is the perfect time to find figs at your local grocery, there's so many varieties and they go well solo or in any kind of dish

Add figs to a salad along with heirloom tomatoes and haloumi cheese.

For more of a dessert flair, add gooseberries and currants along with figs. Nestle the figs in a bed of thinly sliced prosciutto.

Figs also go well with saffron chicken and asparagus.

lamb tagine
Dried figs are perfect along with lamb cooked in a tagine.

There's plenty of ideas for main dishes and desserts that I haven't mentioned, how do you like to eat your figs?

I prefer to eat them whole, unadorned, while lying on a beach somewhere along the Mediterranean....
